Oh boy there’s something about streusel topping that just takes me back to when I was a kid! My nine-year-old daughter actually just asked me today, “What’s that?!” when she saw me looking at your recipe picture and exclaiming happily. I couldn’t believe that in her nine years, I had never introduced her to streusel! Well, what better time than now with this gluten-free recipe to show her one of her mom’s all-times favorites!

So quick to make and it really tasted incredible. Many thanks to Tina for giving us gluten free versions of pretty much anything you could think of!

I started using streusel topping on sugar cookies and cupcakes recently, but the other topping would just flake off too easily. This topping is much more substantial and adheres very well. I don’t know what was in the other topping (it was storebought GF). I bet all the butter helps with this recipe:)

Wow I had no idea there was so much better in streusel! Holy moly! It’s so funny…as I bake from scratch more and more, I discover just how much sugar and butter goes into cookies, cupcakes, and all my favorites and I get truly startled. When you say “32 g” under sugars on a wrapper, that doesn’t mean as much as pouring 2 cups of sugar in your recipe.

My mouth is watering imagining the possibilities…gluten-free cinnamon streusel coffee cake, cinnamon streusel muffins with pecan filling, apple streusel pie, pumpkins spice muffins with streusel…this is going to be a yummy year…

Oh this is so perfect! I was at Starbucks this morning with a girlfriend and I was totally eyeing her coffee cake muffin thing with streusel topping and I was like, “I must make that at home.” I think sometimes that the streusel topping is 90 percent of the allure with Starbucks desserts. I remember how crunchy and delicious they used to be…yum. Can’t wait to make my own though!

Hi Tina thanks so much for this recipe. I made this and it was really fast and simple. I have gotten faster and faster at it too and have been able to add it to all sorts of foods, my muffins and pies especially. I notice that as I make recipes more and more I begin to get REALLY fast at them. That’s definitely the case with this streusel. I’m a streusel master lol!

Hi, Tina, thank you for this. I like to make the cinnamon streusel coffee cake using the gluten free bisquick mix but this streusel topping you have may go better. I like the cake part of the recipe though. You can find it here: http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/cinnamon-streusel-coffee-cake-gluten-free/40a85d19-bb0b-4a9b-bac1-74b4bd54cd28
