Exercise Diversity (Pun Intended)

Diet truly is the path to good health especially when dealing with celiac disease and gluten sensitivity. This raises the question : How does adopting a gluten free diet affect the athletic? Carbs are the bodies preferred source of fuel when exercising and most carb products contain gluten. Is this an obstacle for athletes that want or require a gluten free diet? Well, your level of physical activity (current or desired) would be the 1st indicator of that issue.

Some athletes have been known to cut out gluten as a method to deal with gastrointestinal distress and cramps.  Medically the jury is still out on the effects of a gluten free diet on physical activity.  There are enough gluten free carb products currently on the market to satisfy any level of athletic dedication.  So weather you are into crossfit, running, swimming or pilates a gluten free diet can still provide the fuel you need to reach your goals. What is your favorite gluten-free fuel for performance?

Now all you have to do is find your passion.  GYMBR.com is a great resource for exploring different exercise activites in Los Angeles.  With deals on everything physical under the sun you’re sure to find something fun that also happens to keep you in shape.  Variety is the spice of life, thankfully it’s gluten free 🙂
