This is so fun to make and so good over ice cream, a slice of apple pie or the right piece of cake.
Makes 1½ cups

¼ c water
¾ c heavy cream
5½ tbsp butter (unsalted)
¼ c gluten-free corn syrup
1¼ tsp orange zest – very fine
DIRECTIONS
1. Place the sugar, water and corn syrup in a pan and bring to a slow boil, keep stirring until amber in color; sugar will be melted.
2. Take off heat.
3. Add cream and fold in.
4. Place back on heat and mix thoroughly – add butter and zest and remove from heat immediately – stir.
5. Let stand approx 15 min.

This sounds really good with the orange zest. You can make a traditional recipe unique with a creative spin like this–a little orange zest or whathaveyou. I will have to give this a try. Thanks for your always interesting recipes!
OMG soooo good on plain vanilla ice cream! It’s surprisingly easy to make, especially once you get the hang of it that it becomes like second-nature.
Oh this was good. I topped this on a flourless chocolate cake that I got from this website too and it was absolutely delicious! That orange zest I felt gave the dessert an overall summery feel to it. I like that because usually I do most of my baking in the wintertime and in the summer I’m not really in the mood for a lot of desserts, but this orange zest was perfect.
Oh boy this really looks good! I’m topping this on my gluten free homemade vanilla coconut ice cream! (I’ll post the recipe sometime for ya’ll to try!)
This sounds soooo yummy! Caramel sauce with a twist! I love caramel on fruit, like sliced bananas and apples. Then I feel like I’m actually eating something healthy or at least I figure the caramel sauce and the fruit balance each other out. So I’m really excited to try this orange caramel sauce because the orange will probably go really well with my fruit bowl!
Mmmm I bet this would taste great on apple pie. Yummy!
