INGREDIENTS
1 1lb. skinless halibut fillet, diced in ½-in. pieces
¾ c fresh lime juice
¼ c orange juice
1 habanera pepper seeded and minced
1 naval orange, peel and section
Salt and pepper
DIRECTIONS
1. Place halibut, juices, and habanera in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate about 2-3 hours.
2. Strain liquid and toss with orange sections.
3. Add salt and pepper to taste

Wow this sounds really easy. Halibut is kind of expensive though isn’t it? I will check it out and see what I’m able to find on sale. I bet this recipe would be good with all sorts of different fish.
ceviche huh? There’s a restaurant in the area that specializes in that and people have been really raving about it. I always avoided it because I don’t like raw fish, but then I discovered that it’s not actually raw because the marinade changes the protein molecules so now I’m interested in trying it. Oh wow ceviche! I love this stuff! It’s actually been years since I’ve had it. I was living in L.A. when I first tried it. They had a wonderful restaurant that served it and I unfortunately can’t remember the name. It’s funny though that it never occurred to me to make it on me on. It would be a naturally gluten-free dish and a unique one at that. Thanks for this recipe!
Hmm I don’t think I’m adventurous enough to try this. I will definitely have to try this made by a pro first to see what it’s like! Since I don’t like sushi and I’m not a super huge fan of seafood in general I’m guessing I probably won’t like it very much.
I have made ceviche on my own many times so @Shelly don’t worry about trying it by yourself first because by looking over this recipe I can see that it will come out right. Just follow it exactly!
I really think ceviche tastes good but for some reason I just can’t eat it! I’ll pass this on to some friends though because I think they’ll get a kick out of this recipe.
Boy this is an old favorite of mine from when I was in my early twenties. I learned how to prepare ceviche when I was studying abroad in the south of Spain and continued to make the recipe for a couple of years, but then my first husband didn’t like fish so I just stopped making it and sort of forgot about it. Well, now I’m about to celebrate my 45th birthday and I think it’s about time I make an old favorite, what do you say?
Ok now how do y’all pronounce this word? I’ve always wondered!
