How Does Celiac Affect You?
As I have said before, According to Dr. Alessio Fasano, medical director of the Center for Celiac Research, 2.5 million to 3 million people in the USA have celiac disease. This makes it twice as common as Crohn’s disease, ulceric colitis and cystic fibrosis combined. Unfortunately to date, no more than 150,000 of them have been diagnosed.
This means that a full 2.35 to 2.85 million people in the USA have not been diagnosed and treated. So how do you know of you are celiac? Where do you go?
These days many people are asking for the test, going on line and getting information on where to get the test and bringing the facts to their doctor, to demand the test be done.
I highly recommend you get the book Celiac Disease a Hidden Epidemic by Peter H, R, Green, MD. This book explains the details far better then you can get in any ones particular reading, he has done his work and works in this area solely. He has dedicated his life the research into celiac disease and all its ramifications.
You really need to get well educated so you can make your own decisions, take charge of your body. The tests can be false positives and false negatives, and biopsies can also lead you down the wrong path. It is all explained in simple terms in this book and you will FULLY understand this subject.
If you want to take charge of your body, this book can help you sort out your situation with the proper help YOU decide upon, how to help a loved one or your child. The answers are resolvable.
