Your child needs daily the number of his age in years plus 5 to 10 grams. For example, a 5-year-old would need between 10 and 15 grams of fiber (5 years plus 5 to 10 grams). There are plenty of ways to add fiber to his gluten-free diet by including high-fiber gluten-free grains such as quinoa and brown rice as well as a variety of fruits and vegetables. Not only will your celiac child continue to reap the benefits of a gluten-free diet, but he’ll soon be able to enjoy the healthy advantages of a well-balanced diet high in fiber.

SUCH important information! Gluten free people really need to make sure they get enough fiber and kids can get it really easily with some well-loved kids classics!
Thanks! I never knew how to figure out how much fiber kids actually need.
It’s so nice to know how to calculate the requirements. Thanks, Tina:)))
I really appreciate these great pieces on kids diets. I’m sure a lot of us who visit this site have celiac or gluten-sensitive kids, and every tip you give us really goes a long way.
Sooo happy to get this much-needed advice. You know, I think so much about getting the kids their Omega 3s now and Vitamin D, but yes of course, fiber must also be regulated as well in a child’s diet!
My toddler absolutely LOVES quinoa, even just by itself, so I highly recommend other parents give this fiber-filled treat to their kids too.
My son LOVES quinoa. We have it for breakfast instead of oatmeal. It probably satisfies his fiber requirements for the whole day!
